Designing Your Engagement Ring

Have you Googled, Pinterested, sketched, dreamed and imagined your engagement ring? At Williams Diamond Center, we pride ourselves on being a brilliant source of knowledge in design, creativity and collaboration. 

We are often asked, “How do I start?” First, make an appointment by calling, texting or stopping in. Bring pictures or sketches to your appointment if you have them. We’ll discuss together, then begin to translate your dreams into reality. Have an idea of your budget so we can maximize the design correctly.  We will create sketches based on our conversations, then set up another appointment.  As we get closer to finalizing the designs, we begin sourcing diamonds and/or gemstones to suit your project. We will bring in a selection to choose from, if need be.

There are many options today in the realm of diamonds, whether they be natural, estate (pre-owned), or even lab created. We will discuss all possibilities available as there are several reasons why someone would choose one option over another. 

If you are thinking about gems outside the world of diamonds, it’s important to consider the longevity, hardness and strength of those gems. Often, we recommend sapphire—which comes in almost every color of the rainbow, not just blue. They can be beautiful hues of greens, purples, pinks, yellows and even red (ruby). Emerald is a very desirable choice for many, but it is a soft porous gem that will not withstand a lot of wear and tear—the same can be said for opals and moonstones. We want you to choose whatever gemstone you would like, we just want to give you all the pros and cons. Let us help you navigate the world of gemstones.

Once we have agreed on the design and the correct gems for your project, we launch it to get an exact estimate. People are often concerned that going the route of custom design is more expensive, but the truth is that custom design doesn’t necessarily cost more money, it just takes a bit more time to get everything created.
